Hinata and Chloe Are Out of Time

The series has spent the past few weeks putting Hinata Sakaguchi through the wringer, and Episode 92 picks up directly from that point. According to the official synopsis published by Japanese anime news site Animate Times, Hinata, who should have died, crosses into the past together with Chloe via Chloe's unique skill, Time Travel. To get back to the future, the two turn to "a certain person." The synopsis stops there, and the announcement keeps that person's identity under wraps.

The episode lands one week after Episode 91, "Shi to Shōshitsu" (roughly "Death and Disappearance"), which set up Hinata's apparent fate. Ten new preview stills accompany the announcement. There is also a name to chew on: Season 4's official story summary has been teasing that "a lone hero is about to awaken," and this two-parter puts a hero's name, Chronoa, right in the title. We'll find out who that is when the episode airs.

A Two-Parter With the Season's Top Staff on Deck

The credits suggest the production is treating this one as a big deal. Episode direction is handled by Naokatsu Tsuda and Kenji Yasuda, the same pair who serve as Season 4's series director and deputy director. The script comes from 漆原虹平 (likely Kohei Urushihara), with storyboards by 新田千尋 (likely Chihiro Nitta) and 永良みずき (likely Mizuki Nagara), and a three-person chief animation director team sharing supervision duties.

Season 4 is animated at 8bit, the studio that has handled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime since the anime debuted in 2018, with Hitomi Ogawa on series composition.

Where Season 4 Stands

Season 4 is an unusually large project: a split five-cour run that premiered on April 3, 2026 in Nippon TV's late-night FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT block, with the second cour airing since July 3. The story follows Rimuru's nation of Tempest as it opens diplomatic ties and works toward a world where humans and monsters can live side by side. Standing in the way are the former hero Granbell Rosso and his granddaughter Mariabell, power brokers of the Kingdom of Siltrozzo who see Rimuru's rise as a threat, while Demon Lord Leon sets his own plans in motion in the golden land of El Dorado.

Miho Okasaki returns as Rimuru and Manami Numakura voices Hinata, with Daisuke Ono and Inori Minase playing the scheming Granbell and Mariabell.

Looking Ahead

Episode 92 airs Friday, August 28 at 11:00 p.m. on Nippon TV's FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT block across 30 stations nationwide, followed by BS11 on August 29, AT-X on August 30, and Animax on September 19. Japanese subscription streaming starts at 2:00 a.m. on August 29, with full details on the official broadcast page. Internationally, Crunchyroll simulcasts Season 4 on Fridays with English subtitles and an English dub across the Americas, Europe, and most other regions outside Asia's licensing carve-outs.

For readers who want to get ahead of the anime, Kodansha publishes Taiki Kawakami's manga adaptation of Fuse's story in English. And since this week's episode is labeled Part 1, the back half of the Chronoa story is still to come.
