Mariabell's Shadow Looms Over Episode 8
The Rosso family's machinations have been simmering in the background all season, and Episode 8 appears to bring them front and center. Dengeki Online published the synopsis and a fresh batch of scene stills for the upcoming installment, titled "Gōyoku no Fuseki" — roughly, "Greed's Groundwork."
According to the synopsis, Rimuru receives intelligence from Glenda confirming that Yuuki is under Mariabell's control. Acting on this, Rimuru decides to distance himself from the Free Guild entirely. The problem: a joint ruins investigation between Tempest and the Free Guild is already scheduled and rapidly approaching, leaving Rimuru stuck between caution and obligation.
It's a classic TenSura political bind — Rimuru has the information, but not the freedom to act on it cleanly.
The Rosso Threat in Season 4
Season 4's overarching conflict centers on Granbell Rosso, a former Hero and head of the Siltrosso Kingdom's Five Elders, and his granddaughter Mariabell. The pair advocate for human supremacy through control and have set their sights squarely on Rimuru's growing Jura Tempest Federation. Meanwhile, Demon Lord Leon is pursuing his own agenda in El Dorado, and a new Hero is on the verge of awakening.
The season — produced at Eight Bit under director Naotaka Tsuda — is structured as a massive split five-cour run, with the first two cours airing back-to-back from April 2026 in Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night slot.
Episode 8's staff includes scriptwriter Kōsuke Saitō, storyboards by Masashi Kojima and Kenji Yasuda (the latter also serving as the series' assistant director), direction by Natsumi Suzuki and Masao Kawase, and chief animation direction by Masayori Komine.
Looking Ahead
Episode 8 airs Friday, May 29, 2026 at 23:00 JST on Nippon TV's 30-station network, with a BS11 encore the following evening. International viewers can catch it on Crunchyroll, which is simulcasting Season 4 across North America, Europe, Latin America, Oceania, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
The source manga by Fuse (story) and Yasuki Kawakami (art) is serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius and is available in English through Yen Press. With two consecutive cours on the schedule, TenSura Season 4 has plenty of runway to develop the Rosso conflict — and this episode's title suggests the real power plays are just getting started.
