Raphael Goes After a Skill Built to Hold Forever
The official outline for episode 96 is two sentences long. Rimuru touches Chronoa's soul and understands what she has been carrying. Then, with Hinata and Chloe trapped inside Chronoa's Infinity Prison (無限牢獄), Raphael tries to interfere with the skill.
That is the entire synopsis, and the nine preview stills Japanese entertainment site Dengeki Online published with it stop short of showing how the attempt goes. The episode credits are more concrete. Hitomi Ogawa, who handles series composition across all of Season 4, wrote the script, and 鈴木真衣 (likely Mai Suzuki) is credited with storyboard and episode direction.
The three names in that synopsis belong to three of the season's principal cast members. Miho Okasaki voices Rimuru, and Manami Numakura plays Hinata. Megumi Toyoguchi is credited as the Lord of Wisdom, the in-story title Raphael answers to. Daisuke Ono and Inori Minase play the season's central antagonists, Granbell Rozzo and his granddaughter Mariabell.
The Last Episode Before Slime Goes Quiet
Season 4 was laid out as five separate blocks of episodes rather than one continuous run. The first two aired back to back starting April 3, and the second block began July 3. The official anime account has confirmed episode 96 as that block's finale. September 25 therefore closes a 24-episode stretch, and the remaining three blocks have no announced dates.
The season's official introduction explains why a Hero's awakening is the note it ends on. Tempest opens its borders and builds toward a world where humans and monsters live side by side. Granbell Rozzo, a former Hero and the head of the Rozzo family's five elders, and Mariabell see Rimuru's rise as a threat, and their answer is to protect humanity through control. In the golden realm of Eldorado, Demon Lord Leon begins moving toward a goal of his own.
Eight Bit (Blue Lock) is animating the season, with Naokatsu Tsuda (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) directing and Atsushi Nakayama credited as supervisor. Ryoma Ebata handles character design, Takahiro Kishida designs the monsters, and R·O·N composes the music. The second block swapped both themes: Daoko's "TACTIC" took over the opening from Eir Aoi's "Esoragoto," and Azusa Tadokoro's "Hymnal" replaced CiON's "Katsubou" on the ending.
The anime adapts Taiki Kawakami's manga, which runs in Kodansha's manga magazine Monthly Shonen Sirius. Kawakami works from Fuse's original story, with character drafts by Mitz Vah.
Looking Ahead
Episode 96 airs Friday, September 25 at 23:00 on Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night block across 30 stations, with BS11 following on Saturday, September 26 at 22:00. Crunchyroll streams Season 4 on Fridays at 7:00 a.m. PT with subtitles and an English dub, covering North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS and Southeast Asia.
After that, the calendar is empty. Eight Bit has not dated the third block of episodes, so the wait after Chronoa's Infinity Prison has no end date yet.
Both source works are available in English. Kodansha USA publishes Kawakami's manga, and Yen Press publishes Fuse's light novels, which wrapped in Japan with volume 23 in November 2025.
