Rikiya Koyama's Armored Dragon King Takes the Stage
Japanese entertainment news site Dengeki Online published the synopsis and preview stills for episode 8, "Sky Fortress," on August 12. The setup: Rudeus needs to find out how his mother Zenith can be restored, and an introduction from Nanahoshi lands him an audience with Perugius, the "Armored Dragon King" and, per the synopsis, one of the three heroes who slew the Demon God. Perugius makes his home aboard the sky fortress Chaos Breaker, which gives the episode its title.
According to the preview, Perugius radiates an overwhelming presence, and after hearing about Zenith's situation he brings up an unexpected name. The preview doesn't say whose. We'll find out when the episode airs.
Perugius is voiced by Rikiya Koyama (Kogoro Mouri in Detective Conan, Kiritsugu Emiya in Fate/Zero). Yumi Uchiyama continues as Rudeus, Shion Wakayama voices Nanahoshi, and Hisako Kanemoto plays Zenith.
Where Season 3 Stands
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 premiered on July 4, 2026, opening with a special back-to-back broadcast of episodes 1 and 2 in Japan, and is slated to run 27 episodes across two cours. Studio Bind returns to produce, with Ryōsuke Shibuya directing and Yoshiaki Fujisawa composing the music. Yuiko Ōhara performs the opening theme "Ketsui no Uta," and Mika Nakashima sings the ending theme "Inori, Owareba."
The anime adapts Rifujin na Magonote's light novel series, published under KADOKAWA's MF Books imprint with original character designs by Sirotaka. Alongside the main storyline, the season carries a separate cast list for an "Eris training arc," led by Ai Kakuma as Eris and Megumi Toyoguchi as Ghislaine, and Dengeki Online's article still lists both casts as the show heads into its new arc.

Episode 8 airs Sunday, August 16, 2026 in Japan, where the season runs weekly on Sundays. The official YouTube channel has already posted a Chaos Breaker arc promo to mark the new storyline.
