Kenjirō Tsuda's Orsted Closes Out the Cour
The teaser that arrived with the 2027 date contains no footage from the second cour. It is Orsted, rendered in stills and effects, with Kenjirō Tsuda (Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen) delivering a newly recorded line: "Rudeus Greyrat... as long as you side with Hitogami, I will not let you get away." Novel readers know what that points to. The second cour is where Rudeus and the Dragon God finally meet.
Original author Rifujin na Magonote, who wrote the scenario for episode 14's web preview, said fans should expect a second cour that the team went all out on.
Studio Bind continues to animate, with Ryōsuke Shibuya directing and sharing series composition with Naoto Yachi, character designs by Ryōta Furukawa, and music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa. No broadcast month has been announced.
Mushoku Tensei follows a 34-year-old shut-in who dies and wakes up as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery, reborn as Rudeus Greyrat and determined to use his past life's regrets to live this one properly. Rifujin na Magonote started the web novel on the novel-posting site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2012. Season 3 began on July 5, 2026 with Eris's training arc before moving into the new Chaos Breaker arc, which introduced Perugius, the Armored Dragon King.
Episode 14 Opened With the Diary
Spoilers for episode 14 follow.
Episode 14, titled "Kakugo" (覚悟, roughly "Resolve"), picks up from the diary that episode 13 put on screen. Rudeus finishes reading what his older self wrote, the old man's final moments surface in his head, and he runs for the bathroom and throws up. Sylphiette finds him, asks if he is all right, and gets a hug instead of an answer. Ahead of the finale, the official site published the original novel version of that diary passage, which comes from volume 15.
Yuiko Ohara's "Hikari no Uta" then plays over Rudeus spending time with his family, with different lyrics from the version viewers have been hearing, in the same no-credit opening treatment the season has used throughout the cour.
The rest of the episode is preparation. Rudeus writes a letter at night as one of "the three things I have to do." He sits Sylphiette and Roxy down and tells them he met someone who can see the future, that his family is a target, and that people could die. He never says out loud that the targets are the two of them. Both women pick up on what he is not saying anyway, and Roxy offers to guard the house while he is away.
Then the harder conversation. Rudeus says there may be a third wife. Sylphiette's first guess is Nanahoshi. When the answer turns out to be Eris, she raises an eyebrow and asks whether that is the person who made him ill. Roxy, the long-lived Migurd of the household, proposes the adult solution: decide after actually meeting her. Sylphiette agrees to that, and the reaction roundup from Japanese entertainment news site Anime! Anime! shows viewers spent most of the scene praising Roxy for it.
Hitogami turns up afterward, sulking that arriving from the future is against the rules. He claims world peace as his goal, lets slip that Orsted and Rudeus's own descendants are the ones who eventually bring him down, and explains why he targeted Roxy. When Rudeus says he will do anything to protect his family, Hitogami takes the opening and asks him to kill Orsted. Rudeus wakes up and tells Sylphiette and Roxy that he now has to kill someone.
Eris Turns Her Horse
The finale gives its last minutes back to Eris, who opened the cour and is traveling from the Holy Land of Swords toward Sharia. Rudeus's letter catches up with her on the road. Her training companion Nina mentions that she has heard he likes girls with small chests, and Eris glances down at her own. The letter touches on their first night together and on his intention to fight Dragon God Orsted.
Eris does not deliberate. She puts her horse into a run, and the ending theme comes in over it, which is where the Anime! Anime! thread turns into pure shouting.
Looking Ahead
Crunchyroll has been simulcasting season 3 since the July 5 double-length premiere, across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS and India. The second cour should follow there in 2027. In Japan, ABEMA and d Anime Store carried all 14 episodes ahead of other services, which get episode 14 on September 30.
Anyone who cannot wait a year can read ahead. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the light novels in English under its Airship imprint, so both the diary chapter and the Orsted confrontation are already on shelves. No air month, key visual or staff update has been given for the second cour yet.
