What Episode 14 Covers
Rudeus has finished reading the diary of the elderly Rudeus, and episode 14 is where he stops reading and starts moving. His goal is to protect the family he loves and to avoid the disastrous future the diary lays out. The catch is how he goes about it: he keeps the existence of that older Rudeus, and everything the diary contains, hidden from Sylphiette and Roxy. What he does tell them is that the family may be in danger, and he brings up Eris.
The episode title carries the weight here. "Kakugo" (覚悟) means resolve, or steeling yourself for what comes next, and it is pointed at a Rudeus who has decided to do whatever it takes. Japanese entertainment news site MANTANWEB ran the stills alongside a photo gallery it headlines as a "shocking development," with a viewing-caution note attached. The write-up does not explain what the caution is for, so we'll find out on Sunday.
Sylphiette, Roxy, Eris and Hitogami All Turn Up
The released cuts show Sylphiette, Roxy and Eris, plus Hitogami (ヒトガミ), whose name reads literally as "Man-God." All four turning up in one preview batch is the detail worth flagging: it means the conversation Rudeus has to have with Sylphiette and Roxy and the god side of the story land in the same episode.
The voice cast is unchanged from the previous seasons. Two actors play Rudeus: Yumi Uchiyama voices his dialogue and Tomokazu Sugita delivers his inner monologue, a split that goes back to the first season. Ai Kayano voices Sylphiette, Konomi Kohara voices Roxy Migurdia, Ai Kakuma voices Eris Boreas Greyrat, and Kujira voices Hitogami.
Studio Bind's Third Season, and the Novels Behind It
Mushoku Tensei III Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu is currently airing every Sunday late night on TOKYO MX and other stations, with episode 14 slated for September 27. Studio Bind is animating again. The studio was founded specifically to make this series, and its work on the first season became a talking point in its own right. Ryōsuke Shibuya directs and Yoshiaki Fujisawa scores, with Yuiko Ōhara performing the opening theme "Ketsui no Uta" and Mika Nakashima the ending theme "Inori, Owareba." The stretch of episodes the season is in now has been promoted since the August 16 broadcast as the Chaos Breaker arc.
The original light novel by Rifujin na Magonote began in 2012 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the Japanese web-novel posting site. It follows a 34-year-old unemployed man who dies and wakes up reborn in a world of swords and magic, where the intelligence and the regrets of his old life shape the new one. It is widely treated as a pioneer of the narō-kei light novel wave named after that site. The books are published under KADOKAWA's MF Books imprint, a manga adaptation runs alongside them, and the series has passed 18 million copies in circulation.
The anime has been a long haul. Season 1 aired its first cour from January to March 2021 and its second from October to December 2021. Season 2 split the same way, July to September 2023 and April to June 2024. Season 3 is the longest single run so far, and no official total episode count for it has been announced.

Episode 14 airs September 27, 2026 in Japan. Internationally, Crunchyroll is simulcasting the season weekly on Sundays across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Oceania and the CIS, and an English dub has been rolling out behind the subtitled episodes.
Readers who want to get ahead of the anime have options. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the light novels and the manga in English under its Airship imprint, and has been reissuing the novels as deluxe hardcover omnibuses. Given where episode 14 leaves the diary plot, that is the safer place to look than a search engine.
