A Life-Size Bomb, Lit Up in the Dark
The Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc area of MAPPA EXPO 15th Anniversary, the exhibition celebrating anime studio MAPPA's 15th anniversary, walks visitors through the theatrical film in story order, from Denji and Reze's first meeting, through the Chainsaw Man vs. Bomb battle, to the ending the two ultimately reach, using production materials that include original key animation. According to the report from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime, part of the display swaps out between the exhibition's first and second phases, so the selection of scenes changes depending on when you visit.
The centerpiece is the first public showing of a life-size figure of Bomb, staged so the figure looms out of the darkness for close-up viewing.
The Rumbling and "That Hill"
The Attack on Titan The Final Season area traces the story's push toward its finale after the Rumbling, again through production materials including key animation. A corner built around "that hill," the location tied to the story's ending, exhibits the watercolor originals of its background art for the first time. As in the Chainsaw Man area, some of the displays rotate between the two phases.
The area's special exhibit recreates the Rumbling that Eren sets off, fusing video with three-dimensional sculptural art so visitors can take in the scene of Eren's final Titan form leading the Wall Titans.
Jujutsu Kaisen's Train Car, Plus All 23 MAPPA Titles
The Jujutsu Kaisen area presents the series' signature battle scenes in highlight form, and it changes the most between phases: the first phase covers Season 1 and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film, while the second phase moves to Season 2's Hidden Inventory and Shibuya Incident arcs and Season 3's Culling Game Part 1. A special exhibit titled "Yuji Itadori, Meguru Kioku" (roughly "Yuji Itadori, Memories Turning") pairs a set modeled on a train interior with battle footage and a life-size Yuji Itadori figure, alongside a video looking back on Yuji's story so far.
Beyond the three headliners, the exhibition covers all 23 titles MAPPA has produced, a lineup that runs from Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance, and In This Corner of the World through Yuri!!! on Ice, Banana Fish, Zombie Land Saga, Dorohedoro, Vinland Saga Season 2, and Hell's Paradise, up to recent work like Oblivion Battery, ZENSHU, and Lazarus. Venue merchandise includes A3 posters, acrylic panels, and tote bags featuring illustrations drawn specifically for the exhibition, with more items to be announced.
Looking Ahead
Tickets go on sale Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Japan time through Lawson Ticket, the ticketing service run by the Lawson convenience-store chain. First-phase dates get a standard general sale, while second-phase dates open with a lottery pre-sale. Entry is by timed slot, and Anime Anime notes that an exhibition ticket is also required to shop the merchandise area.
The exhibition runs September 16 through December 7, 2026 at YURAKUCHO MUSEUM in Tokyo's Chiyoda ward, split into a first phase (September 16 to October 25) and a second phase (October 28 to December 7). MAPPA's English press materials say the show is planned to tour additional venues in Japan after the Tokyo run; no overseas dates have been announced.
