Even the Mimic Gets a Seat
The gag pick of the lineup is the Mimic, the treasure chest that keeps chomping down on Frieren in the anime, now drawn sitting politely alongside the rest of the party. It joins Frieren, Fern, Stark, Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen in a set of chibi-style "Puchikyun" series illustrations built around a sitting theme, according to a report from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime.
The Puchikyun art appears on trading mini acrylic stands and trading can badges, plus trading collection cards that are up for pre-order. There is also a line of bar-shaped keychains, each with a round charm featuring a character motif such as a hair ornament or a weapon.
Three more items skip the chibi art and use illustrations from the anime itself: playing-card-style acrylic collections, acrylic art boards, and ID-style acrylic cards. Per the report, the draw here is the characters' cheerful expressions.
There is a purchase bonus, too. During the fair, every ¥3,000 (tax included) spent on eligible items gets you one original illustration sticker at random, from seven designs covering Frieren, Fern, Stark, Himmel, Heiter, Eisen, and the Mimic.
The Merch Keeps Coming in a Packed Stretch for Frieren
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is the manga by Kanehito Yamada and artist Tsukasa Abe, serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday. It follows Frieren, an elf mage who has lived more than 1,000 years, as she travels and meets new companions in the world left behind after she and the hero's party defeated the Demon King.
The TV anime, produced at Madhouse (One-Punch Man, Death Note), ran its first season from September 2023 to March 2024. Season 2 started in January 2026 and, per Anime Anime, took the weekly No. 1 spot on streaming platforms in Japan. Right after the Season 2 finale, a third season covering the Golden Land arc was announced for October 2027, so this sitting-pose line lands in the middle of a very active run for the franchise.
Looking Ahead
The early-release fair runs through August 23, 2026 at six Animega x Sofmap anime shops: Sendai Ekimae, Ikebukuro, Machida, Nagoya Station West, Outlet Namba, and Kobe Harborland. The new items are also being sold through the Akiba Sofmap online store, though the report doesn't mention overseas shipping, so no word yet on international availability.
For fans outside Japan, the franchise itself is easy to keep up with in English: Viz Media publishes the manga, with 14 volumes out so far, and the anime's third season is set to begin airing in October 2027.
