The Festival Game Is an Aphrodisiac "Ceremony" for Jinshi

The Osaka event's silliest attraction is a roulette-style festival game called "Offering to Master Jinshi: The Aphrodisiac Compounding Ceremony" (壬氏さまへの献上 媚薬調合の儀), a callback to the aphrodisiac Maomao famously brews early in the anime. Plays start at ¥800, and there are no losing spins. Everyone walks away with a prize: a tote bag for the grand prize, a mirror for first prize, or a paper fan as the participation prize. Only grand-prize winners get to pick their design, and the game is capped at three plays per transaction.

New Art of Maomao, Jinshi, Xiaolan, and Shisui

According to the PR TIMES release from organizer Moccihack, a Tokyo-based events company, the pop-up centers on newly drawn illustrations of four fan-favorite characters: Maomao, Jinshi, Xiaolan, and Shisui. That art runs across the merch lineup, and every ¥3,000 spent earns a free postcard drawn at random from eight designs.

The Osaka stop also introduces a new item to the event: glitter acrylic coasters featuring chibi versions of the characters, sold in eight designs at ¥2,420 each. Two photo spots built around the new illustrations round out the floor, so visitors can line up a shot next to Maomao and Jinshi.

Osaka is the tour's second stop. Moccihack's earlier release lists a run at the Nagasaki Stadium City complex from July 31 to August 30, 2026. The Osaka edition is co-hosted by e-Stadium Inc. at its e-Stadium Namba flagship on the first floor of Namba Parks, open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Full details, including the goods lineup, are on the official event site.

A Crowded Fall for The Apothecary Diaries

The pop-up arrives at a busy moment for the franchise. Natsu Hyuuga's series has passed 45 million copies in circulation, and the TV anime, which premiered in October 2023, marked its second broadcast anniversary on October 22, 2025 by announcing both a third season and the series' first theatrical film.

Season 3 premieres October 2, 2026 and airs as a split-cour season, with the first half running from October and the second half starting April 2027. Yorushika performs the new opening theme. The film, The Apothecary Diaries: The Deceased Empress' Treasure, opens in Japanese theaters December 11, 2026. In other words, an Osaka fan who plays the aphrodisiac roulette in September will have new Apothecary Diaries content on screens within a month.

Looking Ahead

The Osaka pop-up opens September 6 and wraps September 20, 2026, ahead of Season 3's October 2 premiere. Internationally, Crunchyroll streams the anime in North America and other major territories, including the English dub, though no international release plans for the film have been announced yet. For readers who want the source material in English, Square Enix publishes Natsu Hyuuga's light novels. As for whether Yūen Biyori travels to more cities after Osaka, the release doesn't say; updates go out through the event's official X account, @kusuriya_yuen.
