Why This Episode Matters for Milim

Season 4 has spent its opening stretch on political maneuvering between Rimuru's Tempest Federation and the old-guard human faction led by former "hero" Granbell Rozzo and his granddaughter Mariabell. Episode 11 breaks from that pattern. The Episode 83 synopsis published by Japanese gaming and entertainment news site Dengeki Online places Milim at the center, revisiting the Chaos Dragon (混沌竜) she sealed long ago.

The episode title, "Milim no Tomodachi" ("Milim's Friend"), signals that this isn't a standard fight. Milim, voiced by Rina Hidaka, cannot bring herself to destroy her former companion. Rimuru (Miho Okasaki) steps in with a different approach: rather than fighting the dragon, he aims to protect the soul still lingering inside it. Preview images released alongside the synopsis show both Milim and Rimuru facing the Chaos Dragon together.

Episode 83 Production Credits

Tensai Okamura handles storyboards for the episode, with Atsushi Nakayama on direction. Nakayama also serves as series supervisor for the full Season 4 run at studio Eight Bit. Hitomi Ogawa, the season's series composition writer, penned the screenplay. Masako Takihara served as chief animation director.

Season 4 runs five cours total, with the first two airing back to back since the April 3 premiere. The full run is expected to span roughly 60 episodes. Alongside this week's Milim spotlight, the season's broader threads continue to build. Demon Lord Leon is pursuing his own agenda in El Dorado, and a "hero" is on the verge of awakening.
