Takahiro Sakurai Anchors the Twelve Heavenly Stars' New Lineup
The biggest name in the announcement is Takahiro Sakurai (Giyū Tomioka in Demon Slayer), who voices Castor, one half of the "Twins" of the Twelve Heavenly Stars, the zodiac-themed monster retinue serving overlord protagonist Lufas Maphaahl. According to the character profiles published by Japanese games and anime news site Dengeki Online, Castor dresses like a pirate, fights with a giant anchor, and has spent the two centuries since Lufas's sealing guarding the items and treasure she left in his care.
Two more Stars join him. Ryōta Suzuki voices Karkinos, the "Crab," a level-800 wall with extraordinary defense and almost no attack skills. Suzuki says the character's odd way of talking meant the recording sessions kept demanding ad-lib after ad-lib. Chiaki Takahashi plays Scorpius, the "Scorpion," who hardens her braided hair into a scorpion tail and swings it as a weapon. Takahashi describes her as strong, provocative, and a little crazy, with an overwhelming devotion to Lufas and a habit of rattling off her lines at full speed whenever she gets excited.
For context, A Wild Last Boss Appeared! (野生のラスボスが現れた！) is a possession-style dark fantasy based on Firehead's light novels from publisher Earth Star Entertainment, with over 1.7 million copies in circulation. A veteran player wakes up in the body of their own avatar, the black-winged overlord Lufas Maphaahl (voiced by Ami Koshimizu), 200 years after her defeat and sealing.
Season 2 Pulls In the Seven Heroes and the Demon King's Family
The remaining four newcomers widen the world beyond Lufas's retinue. Shinpachi Tsuji voices Mizar, a dwarf alchemist known as the Smith King and one of the Seven Heroes who once fought at Lufas's side. His golem-crafting skill surpasses even Lufas's own; he built the royal capital's golem and the Star Libra herself. That last credit ties directly into Momoko Seto's role: she voices the Mass-Produced Libra, a line of maid-type combat golems Mizar built using Libra as the template. The units have almost no individual personality, and Seto says the challenge was expressing the will and presence inside characters who all share one face.
On the demon side, Yūichirō Umehara voices Terra, a cool-headed young demon and son of Demon King Orm, a character Umehara sums up as "a mysterious handsome guy who appears out of nowhere." M.A.O rounds out the seven as Luna, the "Moon" among the demon king's seven generals and a specialist in assassination and espionage. Her face stayed hidden for all of Season 1, and M.A.O says the character finally gets to show a full range of expressions this time.
Suspended 4th Sets the Trailer to 'Melodic Impact'
The trailer itself runs on the new opening theme, "Melodic Impact" by rock band Suspended 4th, while showing off new enemies, battle scenes, and the first character visuals for the Season 2 newcomers. Vocalist and guitarist Kazuki Washiyama says the production side pitched a theme along the lines of "muscle-brain" and "strength is power," and that nearly every track was recorded in single takes to keep the sound raw enough to match the footage.
To mark the reveal, the anime's official X account is running a giveaway of signed shikishi autograph boards from each of the seven new cast members and Suspended 4th, with one winner for each signer, eight in total, according to Dengeki Online's report.
Looking Ahead
Season 2 premieres in October 2026 on Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, and Kansai TV, with Japanese streaming services ABEMA and U-NEXT carrying each episode a week ahead of broadcast. International streaming has not been announced yet. Crunchyroll carried Season 1's 12-episode run in late 2025, but there is no confirmation it will pick up the sequel.
The anime is produced at Wao World, with Yūya Horiuchi directing and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series scripts. English readers can catch up in the meantime through J-Novel Club, which publishes both the original light novels and the manga adaptation.
