Two Re:Zero Voices and a KonoSuba Lead Fill Out Class 6-1
All four newcomers play sixth-graders in Class 6-1 at Yukihana Elementary School, the same class as Yuma. Yūsuke Kobayashi (Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero, Senku in Dr. Stone) voices Teruki Sugamo (須鴨光輝), the class representative and captain of the soccer club. Maaya Uchida (Rikka Takanashi in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!) plays Aria Misono (三園愛莉亜), a glamorous girl sitting at the top of the class pecking order.
Rie Murakawa (Ram in Re:Zero) takes on Kai Kisanuki (木佐貫櫂), who looks timid but has a sharp eye for detail. Sora Amamiya (Aqua in KonoSuba, Akame in Akame ga Kill!) rounds out the group as Sumika Watamaki (綿巻すみか), the idol-like girl the boys in class adore.
They join a lead cast announced earlier this year: Haruka Shiraishi as Yuma Ashihara (芦原佑馬), Konomi Inagaki as Sawa Ashihara (芦原佐羽), Yūya Hirose as Kenji Kondō (近堂健児) and Satomi Amano as Minagi Sano (茶野水凪).
Devils' Crest is Kawahara's all-new series set in a mixed-reality (MR) world, published since 2022 under Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint with illustrations by Yukiko Horiguchi, who also designs the characters for the anime. Kobayashi sums up the setup in his comment as a story of boys and girls trapped in a game world, where monster attacks and paranoia between the kids push things well past what children should have to handle. Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Haikyu!!) handles animation, with Shinji Ushiro as chief director, Kenichirō Komaya directing and Eiji Umehara on series composition.
What the New Cast Says About Their Characters
The cast comments published by Dengeki Online, Kadokawa's games and anime news site, give a decent read on where these four sit in the story.
Kobayashi describes Teruki as someone who keeps saying and doing things that throw the group's relationships into chaos, though he wants to believe it comes from a sense of responsibility. He says he wants to stay on Teruki's side even as he does his best to freeze the mood of every scene, and suggests viewers try to piece together the mystery as the story unfolds under extreme conditions.
Uchida calls Aria an awkward girl who struggles to show her true feelings, and says the story's creeping, unpredictable dread has made every week of recording a pleasure.
Murakawa points out that Kai's job inside the in-world game, Actual Magic, was never revealed even in Dengeki Bunko's character introductions, and asks viewers to keep an eye on Kai. She also confirms the anime includes original developments, so novel readers should find something new. Her one-line summary of the premise: it's a game, but it's reality.
Amamiya has voiced Sumika since the original novel's promotional video and returns for the anime. She describes Sumika as the class heroine type, gentle and kind, and says she is enjoying the gap between everyday Sumika and the show's many battle scenes. She also flags that the first anime PV ends on an unsettling note with Yuma's line "Watamaki-san... is that you?" and asks fans to watch for what happens to her.
Uniform Visuals and an October 3 ABEMA Stream
Alongside the casting, the production released school-uniform character visuals for Teruki, Aria, Kai and Sumika. Each shows the character in the Yukihana Elementary uniform paired with a signature line of dialogue.
The series will also get a dedicated segment on Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026, a program covering the imprint's media-mix projects that follows last year's winter edition. The event streams free and exclusively on ABEMA, the Japanese streaming service, on October 3, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. JST. The Devils' Crest block starts at 9:10 p.m. JST with Shiraishi, Inagaki, Hirose and Amano talking through the adaptation, hosted by Haruka Mori.
Looking Ahead
Devils' Crest premieres as a worldwide Prime Video exclusive on November 6, 2026, so international viewers get it the same day as Japan. Ado performs the opening theme, "Shinka," and Yūki Hayashi and Naoyuki Chikatani compose the score. The first full PV is up now, and the official site also hosts an English-subtitled version.
One naming note for English readers: the anime carries the English title Devils' Crest, while Yen Press publishes Kawahara's novels under the title Demons' Crest. Three English volumes are out as of December 2025, so there is time to read ahead before the November premiere.
