Shanks Drives, Zoro Shoots
Bandai's ONE PIECE × NBA MASTER STARS PIECE line pairs Straw Hat pirates with real NBA franchises, and the second wave makes two strong picks. Shanks gets the Chicago Bulls treatment, captured mid-dribble as if driving to the basket, while Zoro suits up for the Boston Celtics in a shooting pose — ball raised, ready to score. Both figures are PVC pre-painted statues with dedicated bases, and Anime Anime reports that the sculpts aim to recreate the energy of the collaboration's key visuals, as though the characters leapt straight off the promotional art.
Shanks stands roughly 19 cm tall (including base) and is priced at ¥14,300 (approx. $95) tax included. Zoro is the bigger figure at about 34 cm (measured to the ball) and comes in at ¥12,100 (approx. $80). Both are exclusive to Premium Bandai and ship in November 2026.
Six More Characters on the Way
Wave 2 is just the midpoint. Bandai confirmed that six additional characters are planned for the ONE PIECE × NBA MASTER STARS PIECE line, though no names or team pairings have been announced yet. The first wave presumably established the format, and with Shanks and Zoro now covering the Bulls and Celtics, the door is wide open for fan speculation about which characters — and which franchises — come next.
The crossover taps into One Piece's massive global footprint. Eiichiro Oda's manga, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997, crossed 600 million copies in worldwide circulation as of March 2026 — roughly 450 million in Japan and 150 million overseas. The anime, produced by Toei Animation (One Piece, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon), has run on Fuji TV since 1999 and is currently airing the Elbaf arc. Netflix's live-action adaptation also launched its second season in March 2026.
Looking Ahead
Pre-orders for both figures are open now on Premium Bandai, with a November 2026 shipping window. Bandai notes that orders may close early if demand hits the planned production run, though popular items are sometimes reopened for a second round.
Premium Bandai does ship internationally through its global storefront, so overseas collectors should check availability on the international version of the site. No word yet on which NBA teams the next six characters will represent, but with the Bulls and Celtics already claimed, expect reveals to roll out over the coming months.
