Diana Worked on the Anime Before It Made the Shoes
This is not a standard licensing deal. According to Japanese anime news site Anime Anime, the collaboration started during production of the anime itself: Diana, a women's shoe and bag brand, worked with the ONE PIECE HEROINES team as a real-world reference for how shoes are designed and made. That working relationship grew into the brand's first collaboration with the series.
The product recreates the footwear Nami wears in the special that aired July 5, 2026, described in the collab materials as "battle-ready shoes" (戦える靴, literally "shoes you can fight in"). The turnaround was quick: the episode aired Sunday night, and the sandals went on sale the next morning, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. JST.
What ¥25,300 Gets You
The sandals are cut from ocean-blue satin, with the elegant heel silhouette Diana is known for and a scattering of large and small sparkling stones. The anklet that appears in the episode is included. They run ¥25,300 (about $170) tax included, in sizes 21.5 cm to 25.0 cm (roughly US women's 4.5 to 8).
Diana also commissioned a newly drawn illustration of Nami as the collaboration's key visual. Buy one pair and you get two bonuses: an iridescent pouch stamped with the collab logo and a sticker of that new Nami art.
The sandals are sold through Diana's official web shop and 19 physical stores across Japan, from the Ginza flagship to locations in Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Kumamoto.
The Special Behind the Sandals
ONE PIECE HEROINES is a spin-off anime built around the series' female cast, produced at Toei Animation, the studio behind the main One Piece TV series. Haruka Kamatani directs, with Momoka Toyoda on the screenplay and Takashi Kojima handling character designs. The special draws on ONE PIECE novel HEROINES, Jun Esaka's official spin-off novel published under Shueisha's Jump J-Books imprint with illustrations by Sayaka Suwa.
The collab arrives in a crowded year for the franchise. Eiichiro Oda's manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997, passed 600 million copies in worldwide circulation as of March 4, 2026, per Anime Anime's report. The TV anime's Elbaf arc has been airing since April 5, 2026, and season 2 of Netflix's live-action One Piece has been streaming since March 10, 2026.
Looking Ahead
The sandals are on sale now, but every listed storefront is in Japan and no international release has been announced. Overseas buyers will need a proxy shipping service unless that changes.
The anime itself is easier to reach. Crunchyroll began streaming ONE PIECE HEROINES internationally on July 6, 2026, the day after the Japanese broadcast, and a Netflix release has also been announced. Readers who want to dig into the source material can start with the Jump J-Books novel the special adapts.
