How the Vote Works

Animate Times, the news site of Japanese anime retailer Animate, opened the poll on Friday, August 14, 2026. According to the Animate Times announcement, the ballot is simple: choose one favorite character from Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and, optionally, write a short note on why. The site suggests reasons like an unforgettable first appearance, a fight that won you over, a personality you relate to, great character design, or a voice performance that stuck with you.

The results will run in a follow-up article as a ranking, with selected reader comments published alongside the standings. No closing date has been announced, so the form is open now.

The Contenders

The announcement names protagonist Rudeus Greyrat along with Roxy, Sylphiette, and Eris as the characters fans have latched onto, though the poll is open to any character in the series, not just those four. The site credits the cast's growth and the bonds between them as the reason the franchise has held its audience.

Mushoku Tensei began as a light novel series by Rifujin na Magonote about a 34-year-old shut-in who dies in a traffic accident and wakes up as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery. Reborn as Rudeus and keeping the memories of his first life, he resolves to actually live this time. The three women the poll highlights, Roxy, Sylphiette, and Eris Boreas Greyrat, have anchored the story since its earliest arcs.

The Poll Lands Mid-Season

The vote opened while the Studio Bind anime is on the air. Season 3, released in Japan as Mushoku Tensei III, premiered on July 5, 2026, with a one-hour, two-episode opening, and new episodes air Sundays. The season's next stretch, labeled the Chaos Breaker arc (ケイオスブレイカー編) in the latest official PV, starts August 16, 2026.

The season's ending theme is "Inori, Owareba," performed by Mika Nakashima, with a limited-edition single arriving August 26, 2026. So fans casting a vote this month are doing it with fresh material in mind, not just memories of the 2021 season.

Looking Ahead

Internationally, Season 3 streams on Crunchyroll in most regions worldwide, with English subtitles and an English dub, and new episodes drop Sundays. The source light novels and the manga adaptation are both published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, so newcomers can catch up ahead of the ranking reveal.

Animate Times hasn't said when the results article will run, only that the ranking and reader comments will come at a later date. Whether Rudeus can out-poll his own heroines is the question the comments section will settle.
