Five Years of Cat-Shaped Pirates

The set comes from MegaHouse's MEGA CAT PROJECT, the figure line that reimagines popular anime characters as small, round cats. Its One Piece branch goes by Nyan Piece Nyan! (ニャンピースニャーン!), a pun on "nyan," the Japanese onomatopoeia for a cat's meow. The line has been turning the Straw Hats feline since 2021, and according to a report from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime, the new DINER! set is billed as the line's fifth-anniversary project.

Previous waves put cat Luffy on pirate ships and in the Wano Country arc. This time the concept swaps piracy for food service, with every character dressed as staff at an American-style diner.

Six Cats, Burgers Included

The lineup covers six characters: Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Tony Tony Chopper, and Trafalgar Law. Each cat comes with diner-appropriate props, including hamburgers, donuts, and melon soda, the bright-green soda-fountain drink that is a fixture of Japanese diners and coffee shops.

The figures are tiny, measuring roughly 30mm (about 1.2 inches) each. A box of six sells for ¥6,600 (tax included) and is scheduled to release in late December 2026. Preorders are open now through the Japanese hobby retailer AmiAmi, both at its online shop and its physical stores.

One Piece Has a Busy 2026

The anniversary set lands in the middle of a crowded year for the franchise. Eiichiro Oda's manga has run in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997, and the Anime Anime report notes its worldwide circulation passed 600 million copies as of March 4, 2026.

On screens, the TV anime's Elbaph arc has been airing since April 5, 2026, and the report notes that ONE PIECE HEROINES, a new spin-off anime centered on the series' heroines, is scheduled to begin broadcasting on July 5. Season 2 of Netflix's live-action One Piece has also been streaming worldwide since March 10, 2026.

Looking Ahead

The DINER! set releases in Japan in late December 2026, with AmiAmi handling preorders in the meantime. No international release has been announced, though earlier Nyan Piece Nyan! sets have shown up on MegaHouse's English-language megahobby storefront and at Western retailers, so an overseas listing would not be a surprise if the pattern holds. For everything else, the Elbaph arc is currently airing, and English readers can follow the source manga through Viz Media's Shonen Jump service.
