Season 1's Trio Returns, With Comments to Match

All three of Season 1's leads are coming back, and each sent a comment along with the announcement. The news was revealed during the "Overlap Bunko All-Star SP 2026 Part 2" special, streamed on ABEMA, a Japanese streaming service.

Shūichirō Umeda (Hikaru in The Summer Hikaru Died) voices Haruka, the perpetual loner whose entire class gets pulled into another world mid-lesson. In his comment, Umeda thanked fans for their support and said he was glad to return to Haruka's strangely noisy solo adventures. He also wondered what Haruka will clear next after crossing paths with the Class Rep's group and Angelica in Season 1.

Haruka Shiraishi, who plays the Class Rep, credited the renewal to the Season 1 staff and the fans who backed the show. She added that recording Season 1 with its rowdy cast of classmates was a joy, and that she wants to pour everything into the character again.

The most intriguing tease comes from Saori Hayami (Yor Forger in Spy x Family), who voices Angelica. In Season 1, Hayami conveyed the character's emotions almost entirely through breaths that barely became words, and her comment asks fans to keep an eye on how Angelica turns out in Season 2.

Original author Shoji Goji (五示正司) also chimed in, thanking viewers and joking about his strict leave-it-to-the-specialists policy: illustrations belong to Saku Enokimaru (榎丸さく), the manga belongs to Bibi (びび), and the anime belongs to studio Hayabusa Film and its director. Hayabusa Film co-produced Season 1 alongside Passione, though the official announcement on PR TIMES does not list staff or studio details for the new season. Enokimaru and Bibi both contributed celebratory illustrations to the reveal.

A Hard-Mode Isekai at 4.3 Million Copies

Loner Life in Another World follows Haruka, a high schooler who spends his school life alone until his class is summoned to another world in the middle of a lesson. A god offers cheat skills on a first-come, first-served basis, and by the time Haruka's turn arrives, his classmates have taken everything worth having. The god, now thoroughly annoyed, dumps every leftover bad skill on him, including one simply called Loner. Stuck adventuring by himself, Haruka sets out to beat the hard-mode fantasy world without cheats.

Goji's original light novels have been running since 2016 under Overlap Bunko, publisher Overlap's light novel imprint, with 18 volumes out in Japan. Bibi's manga adaptation runs on Comic Gardo, Overlap's web manga service, with 26 volumes released and volume 27 arriving July 20, 2026. Across print and digital, the series has now passed 4.3 million copies in circulation, the milestone that headlines the press release.

Looking Ahead

The announcement stops at "in production." There is no broadcast window, episode count, or staff list for Season 2 yet, and no word on international streaming. Season 1's 12 episodes, which aired from October to December 2024, streamed on HIDIVE in North America, Australia, and the British Isles through Sentai Filmworks, so that is the natural place to watch for a pickup announcement.

English readers can catch up on the source material in the meantime: Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the light novels in English, and Kaiten Books handles the manga. Updates on the new season will roll out through the anime's official website and its X account, @bocchi_PR.
