Kotono Mitsuishi, who voices the plush toy Suzuko in the TV drama 40 Made ni Shitai 10 no Koto, will also appear on screen in the live-action film version as the president of a wedding company, Anime! Anime! reported on October 6, 2026. Gekijōban 40 Made ni Shitai 10 no Koto opens in theaters across Japan on January 22, 2027.
In the drama, Suzuko is the stuffed animal that lives with the lead, a worn-down manager just short of 40 played by Shunsuke Kazama, and quietly watches over him. Mitsuishi keeps that role in the film and also plays the president of a wedding company that does business with the employer of Kazama's character and his younger subordinate, played by Kohei Shoji. The executive has a large effect on the two men's story.
Three other cast members were announced at the same time. Shinji Takeda plays the wedding company president's husband, Jun Hashimoto plays an ex-boyfriend who casts a shadow over the lead's memories, and Mito Yukimi plays an employee at the wedding company.
The drama, based on a manga by Mamita, began airing on TV Tokyo in July 2025, according to Eiga.com. Kazama's character draws up a list of 10 things he wants to do before he turns 40, and Shoji's character sees the list by chance. The film takes up the story after the two have worked through the list. Chihiro Ikeda returns as director and Yō Saitō as screenwriter, Eiga.com also reported.
