Animate will hold a fair marking the theatrical release of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO at its stores across Japan and its online store from January 14 to February 14, 2027, Oricon News reported on October 14, 2026. The new merchandise and the bonus clear cards use a newly unveiled visual showing SEED characters in winter clothes.
The visual features Shinn and Lunamaria, Kira and Lacus, Athrun and Cagalli, and Yzak and Dearka. Athrun is shown smiling in a coat matching his partner's.
The lineup includes acrylic stands, a mini shikishi collection, blankets and trash pouches, among other items. Shoppers receive one bonus card for every ¥1,100 (tax included) paid toward related goods, either as a purchase or as a reservation deposit; one per book or audio-visual item purchased or reserved, which requires a deposit of at least ¥1,100; and one per Gratte food or drink item or paid bonus, which requires the full amount up front. An Animate release on PR TIMES says the clear cards come in eight types. That release also lists a Gratte menu item in eight designs at ¥715 (tax included) for dine-in and ¥702 for takeout, offered at the animate Gratte Ikebukuro main store, Akihabara ANNEX, Yokohama Vivre, Nagoya, Osaka Nihonbashi and Okayama.
The film opens in Japan on January 15, 2027, and is a prequel to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, which opened on January 26, 2024. Oricon reports that it animates a scenario written during SEED FREEDOM's planning stage by series composition writer Chiaki Morosawa, who has since died, along with Shigeru Morita and director Mitsuo Fukuda. Shinn Asuka is the protagonist. The film's official English site has announced a North American theatrical release in February 2027.
