Emma Myers Returns to the Case
Pip Fitz-Amobi said she was done investigating. Naturally, she lied.
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2 launched today on Netflix, bringing back Emma Myers — best known as Enid Sinclair in Wednesday — as the sharp-tongued teen detective who can't stop pulling at loose threads. This time, the story draws from Holly Jackson's second novel, Good Girl, Bad Blood, and the stakes are more personal than ever.
The setup: Pip solved the Andie Bell cold case in Season 1, but the fallout is still very much alive. She's tried to walk away from amateur sleuthing, vowing to tie up loose ends and move on. That plan falls apart when a trial looms on the horizon and Jamie Reynolds — the brother of her friend Connor — vanishes without a trace. Pip has no choice but to dive back in, racing the clock to find him before it's too late.
A Stacked Returning Cast
Myers leads a deep ensemble that's largely intact from Season 1. Zain Iqbal returns as Ravi Singh, Pip's partner and moral compass. Asha Banks is back as Cara Ward, while Jude Morgan-Collie reprises Connor Reynolds — whose missing brother drives the season's central mystery.
Yali Topol Margalith returns as Lauren Gibson, Henry Ashton is back as Max Hastings, and Cara Woodcock reprises Becca Bell. On the adult side, Matthew Baynton returns as Elliot Ward, and Anna Maxwell Martin is back as Pip's mother Leanne. The cast also includes Raiko Gohar, Yasmin Al-Khudairi, and Gary Beadle.
The series is a co-production between Netflix and the BBC, with the latter airing the show on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in the UK and Ireland.
What Makes This Series Click
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder carved out its niche by playing the YA mystery genre completely straight. There's no supernatural angle, no winking self-awareness — just a smart kid with a spreadsheet and a refusal to accept easy answers. Holly Jackson's source novels have sold millions worldwide, and the first season proved that Myers could carry the adaptation's weight, blending Pip's relentless drive with the vulnerability of someone who knows she's in over her head.
Season 2's pivot to a missing-person case rather than a cold-case murder gives the show a different rhythm. The original investigation unfolded over years of accumulated evidence; this one unfolds in real time, with a life hanging in the balance. That ticking-clock pressure should bring a different energy to the Eiga Natalie-reported sophomore outing.
Looking Ahead
All six episodes of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2 are available now on Netflix globally. Each episode runs approximately 45 minutes. Holly Jackson's novel trilogy concludes with As Good as Dead, which could provide material for a potential third season — though Netflix has not announced one yet. The official trailer is available on Netflix's YouTube channel for anyone who wants a preview of Pip's latest predicament before diving in.
