Nippon TV announced on October 2, 2026 which fan-voted episode placed first in each Lupin III series for Lupin III Kessakusen ("Lupin III Masterpiece Selection"), a 13-episode selection that began airing on October 3 in the broadcaster's Saturday late-night slot (Nippon TV News). The run marks 55 years since the anime's first episode aired in 1971.
Voting ran on the program's official website from June 10 to August 31. The 13 episodes are the first- and second-place episodes from each of PART1 through PART6, plus the top episode from the spinoff TV series LUPIN the Third Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna. Nippon TV said the seven episodes that led the interim announcement held on to first place in the final count, and that the other six episodes will be revealed as they are broadcast.
The seven first-place episodes, with Japanese titles romanized and literal translations in parentheses:
- Lupin III PART1: "Lupin wa Moeteiru ka....?!" (Is Lupin Burning....?!)
- Lupin III PART2: "Saraba Itoshiki Lupin yo" (Farewell, Beloved Lupin)
- Lupin III PART III: "Kinkai wa Lupin o Yobu" (The Gold Bullion Calls Lupin)
- Lupin III PART4: "Lupin Sansei no Kekkon" (The Marriage of Lupin III)
- Lupin III PART5: "Lupin Sansei wa Eien ni" (Lupin III Forever)
- Lupin III PART6: "EPISODE 0 ―Jidai―" (EPISODE 0 ―Era―)
- LUPIN the Third
Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna: "Ōdorobō VS Onna Kaitō" (Master Thief vs. Lady Phantom Thief)
Each episode also carries introduction narration from the five current main cast members: Kanichi Kurita (Lupin III), Akio Ōtsuka (Daisuke Jigen), Daisuke Namikawa (Goemon Ishikawa), Miyuki Sawashiro (Fujiko Mine) and Kōichi Yamadera (Inspector Zenigata). Nippon TV said the narration was recorded specifically for this selection and can be heard only this time.
Episodes are scheduled to stream on TVer immediately after each broadcast.
