A TV anime adaptation of Kashiko Amane's romantic comedy manga Everyone's Darling Has a Secret (Hōkago no Idol ni wa Himitsu ga Aru) will begin broadcasting in April 2027, Anime Hack reported. Reiji Kawashima voices protagonist Hizashi Hiruno, and Hikaru Tono voices heroine Rei Kuromiya.
The manga, serialized on Young Animal Web, follows two first-year high school students: Kuromiya, who works as an idol and is taken by everyone around her for a flawless girl with both looks and brains, and Hiruno, the hardworking classmate who finds out one of her secrets. Nine volumes have been published by Hakusensha so far, and Yen Press publishes the manga in English.
Iori Noguchi of =LOVE plays Sakura Akai, the oldest and most dependable member of Aiiro Impulse, the group Kuromiya belongs to. Ami Maeshima plays Sora Konno, another Aiiro Impulse member who keeps to her own pace.
Hikaru Sato (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You) is directing, with Fumihiko Shimo writing the series composition and scripts and Kibidango 14-go designing the characters. Gekkou (月虹) is producing the animation.
The teaser visual shows Hiruno and Kuromiya passing each other in a school hallway in cherry blossom season, with a tagline that translates as "Her secret, which she can't tell anyone."
In a comment released with the announcement, Amane wrote, in remarks translated from Japanese: "Idol Rei Kuromiya will finally sing and dance. Hiruno will move, too."
Tono and Maeshima will also appear at StarryCube ANIME FES 2026, held with Waseda University's anime and voice acting club at the university in Tokyo on November 7, 2026.
