Hotel Room Key Chains Return With Fan-Favorite Characters
The second volume of Detective Conan's hotel room key-style acrylic ball chain series features six characters: Shinichi Kudo, Ran Mouri, Ai Haibara, Kaito Kid, Shuichi Akai, and Toru Amuro. Each chain uses translucent acrylic to mimic the look of an upscale hotel key card — a surprisingly classy accessory for a franchise built on child-sized detectives and serial poisonings.
Alongside the new volume, Anime Anime reports that the first volume is getting a reprint. Vol. 1 covers Conan Edogawa, Chihaya Hagiwara, Jugo Yokomizo, Masumi Sera, Kenji Hagiwara, and Jinpei Matsuda — a lineup heavy on the Police Academy and Mystery Train crowd. If you missed them the first time, this is your window.
Pre-orders for both volumes close June 14, 2026 at 11:59 PM JST.
The Macaron Collection Leans Into Chibi Charm
The other half of this merch drop is the "Macaron Collection," a two-volume set built around original "Sweets Series SD" illustrations. The theme — "Popping out from sweets" — puts miniature versions of the cast peeking out of pastel-colored macarons. It's aggressively cute, and it knows it.
The product range is broad: round and rectangular pin badges, glass magnets, acrylic stands, acrylic cards, acrylic keychains, and clear file-plus-sticker sets. The kind of spread that turns a casual browse into a full cart.
Vol. 1 features Conan Edogawa, Ai Haibara, Shinichi Kudo, Ran Mouri, Kogoro Mouri, Kansuke Yamato, Takaaki Morofushi, Yui Uehara, Toru Amuro, and Yuya Kazami. Vol. 2 brings in Heiji Hattori, Kazuha Toyama, Kaito Kid, Gin, Vodka, Vermouth, Shuichi Akai, and Masumi Sera — giving the Black Organization villains the chibi-macaron treatment they never asked for.
Macaron Collection pre-orders run through June 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM JST, via the Zero-G Act online store.
Looking Ahead
The merch wave lands during a strong moment for the franchise. Detective Conan: Highway Angel, the latest theatrical film, opened in Japan on April 10, 2026 and has crossed ¥11.95 billion (approx. $79 million) at the domestic box office. The source manga by Gosho Aoyama, serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday since 1994, now exceeds 107 volumes with 270 million copies in print worldwide.
For international fans looking to grab either the hotel key chains or the Macaron Collection items, these are currently listed through Japanese retailers. No international storefront has been announced, so proxy shopping services like Buyee or ZenMarket are the standard route for overseas buyers. The pre-order windows are tight — June 14 for the key chains, June 30 for the macarons — so don't sleep on it if anything caught your eye.
