Arondight Sword, Beam Cannon, and the Wings of Light
G Frame FA is Bandai's candy-toy line of small articulated action figures, each box technically sold with a single piece of soda-flavored gum. According to the product reveal from Japanese anime news site Anime Anime, this Destiny Gundam stands about 110mm (4.3 inches) tall, comes painted and mostly assembled in ABS and MABS plastic, and carries an age grade of 15 and up.
For that size, the weapons count is generous. The figure includes the MMI-714 Arondight beam sword, the machine's huge anti-ship blade, along with the M2000GX high-energy long-range beam cannon. It also comes with parts for the Voiture Lumiere propulsion system, so you can display the suit with its "Wings of Light" deployed.
In the series, the Destiny Gundam was ZAFT's bid to end the war with the Earth Alliance, built with the best technology of its day on the orders of PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Gilbert Durandal. A Hyper-Deuterion engine gives it enormous output, while the Voiture Lumiere system, adapted from interplanetary propulsion technology, handles its high mobility. Shinn Asuka sat in the cockpit.
From a 2002 TV Series to a Record-Breaking Film
The Gundam SEED series takes place in the Cosmic Era, a setting split between genetically engineered Coordinators and naturally born Naturals. The first series debuted in 2002, and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny followed as the second TV entry.
The franchise then returned to theaters with Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM on January 26, 2024, and the film went on to become the highest-grossing theatrical release in Gundam history.
The film-era version of Shinn's machine is getting the same treatment. Orders for the Destiny Gundam Spec II, the refit the machine received after the Battle of Messiah, open alongside the standard version, and Anime Anime notes the two make a natural side-by-side display.
Looking Ahead
The figure sells for 6,545 yen (about $45) through Premium Bandai, Bandai's web store for made-to-order exclusives, with shipping planned for March 2027. The report only covers the Japanese storefront, and there's no word yet on whether the release will reach Premium Bandai's US or other regional shops. Overseas collectors will want to watch their local P-Bandai site or line up a proxy service before the order window closes.
