A Teaser Visual Built Around Chimera Falin
The date came with a first look. According to Japanese entertainment news site Oricon News, the teaser visual centers on Falin in her chimera form, paired with Thistle, the mad mage who controls her. Chasing the pair, the full party pushes on: Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck, Senshi, and Izutsumi, all headed for the deepest levels of the dungeon.
Oricon frames the new season exactly the way fans would hope. The journey to rescue Falin, the goal that has driven the series from episode one, is now closing in on the core of the story.
A quick refresher for anyone catching up: Delicious in Dungeon follows a party of adventurers trying to save a lost companion while surviving on the monsters they cook along the way. Ryōko Kui's manga builds that gimmick into a genuinely smart fantasy story, and Season 1 covered roughly the half where the cooking still outweighed the dread.
Trigger Brings Back the Season 1 Team
The reveal went out during Studio Trigger's panel at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, and Anime News Network reports that the core Season 1 staff returns intact. Yoshihiro Miyajima is back as director, with Kimiko Ueno as story editor, Naoki Takeda on character designs, and Yasunori Mitsuda composing the music. Trigger (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Kill la Kill) again handles animation production.
On the cast side, Kentarō Kumagai returns as Laios and Sayaka Senbongi as Marcille, the pair whose rescue mission and forbidden-magic guilt anchor the story's second half.
Looking Ahead
Season 2 premieres in October 2027 and will stream worldwide on Netflix, the same arrangement Season 1 had when its 24 episodes rolled out starting January 2024. An exact premiere date and an episode count haven't been announced, so we'll see how much of the remaining story this season takes on.
The long wait comes with one reassurance: the source material is finished. Kui's manga ran in Kadokawa's Harta magazine and concluded in September 2023, and Yen Press publishes the complete series in English. Whatever Trigger builds next, it's adapting a story whose ending is already on the page.
