What the Second Trailer Shows
The trailer debuted during MAPPA's 15th anniversary lineup presentation on June 19 and picks up where fans hoped it would: the world's assassins are making their move on Denji. Several new characters appear on screen for the first time, though no voice actors have been announced for the new arrivals.
Director Tatsuya Yoshihara, who helmed the Reze Arc film, returns for the Assassins Arc. Hiroshi Seko handles the script, Kensuke Ushio composes the score, and Kazutaka Sugiyama leads character design. Kiyotaka Oshiyama is credited with devil design. MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season) produces.
The confirmed returning voice cast includes Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, Fairouz Ai as Power, Shōgo Sakata as Aki Hayakawa, Kenjirō Tsuda as Kishibe, Natsuki Hanae as Beam, and Maaya Uchida as the Angel Devil.
Maximum the Hormone Scores the Mobile Game
Alongside the Assassins Arc trailer, MAPPA announced a Chainsaw Man mobile game project. The game's opening theme is "ALL THE LYNCH!! ALL THE MINCE!!" by Maximum the Hormone, the Japanese metal band whose "What's Up, People?!" and "Zetsubō Billy" served as Death Note's second opening and ending themes.
MAPPA produced the game's opening animation to accompany the track. Guitarist Maximum the Ryōkun said the opening cut runs just 1 minute and 29 seconds, but a completed full version runs around four and a half minutes. He described it as a song that channels everything he sees in Chainsaw Man, compressed into a sprint. He can already picture it becoming a live show staple, signing off with the manga's Future Devil catchphrase: "Mirai saikō! Mirai saikō!" He also revealed that vocalist Daisuke-han cried when he first heard the demo, calling it "too good."
No details about the game's genre, platforms, or release window were shared. An official X account (@CSM_APPGAME_JP) is live for updates.
Looking Ahead
The Assassins Arc has no confirmed release date or format. The arc was first announced in 2025, and MAPPA's production schedule remains packed with projects including Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4. The Assassins Arc follows the Reze Arc film, which opened in Japanese theaters in September 2025 and became available on Crunchyroll on April 30, 2026.
Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man manga has run across Weekly Shonen Jump and Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ app since 2018, spanning eight years with over 36 million copies in circulation. The manga is published in English by Viz Media, and the first season of the anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.
