Hazuki Ichise, the Sister Hana Was Measured Against
The third teaser visual puts Hazuki front and center, and it reframes the story's central wound as a two-person problem. Hana was written off as a failure and treated as "the dregs of her sister." Hazuki, by contrast, grew up carrying her parents' expectations and the pressure that came with them. According to a report from the Japanese game and anime news site Dengeki Online, the visual is built around the emotional gap between the two sisters.
Hazuki's character bio adds a sharper edge. She's a top student and was considered a strong candidate to become the partner of Saku Ichinomiya, head of the Ichinomiya main family. That's the same Saku who, in the story's premise, pressures Hana into a contract marriage instead.
Kanon Takao (高尾奏音) voices her. In her comment, Takao said she was drawn into the work from the audition stage and found herself empathizing with Hazuki in particular. She wants to carefully render Hazuki's delicate emotional shifts.
The teaser PV itself, posted on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel, covers Hana's side of that history: a childhood spent being called a failure while hiding the power she actually had, and her choice to push back and "be herself."
Nozomi and Hana's Three Shikigami
The remaining four additions fill out Hana's inner circle.
Hiroto Shimizu (清水大登) plays Nozomi Ichinomiya (一ノ宮望), Saku's younger brother and a classmate of Hana and Hazuki. He commands a hawk-form shikigami, a summoned familiar, named 紅蓮 (likely Guren), and the bio notes he is secretly devoted to his older brother. Shimizu described him as a textbook tsundere with a brother complex, all prickly attitude until his honest side slips out. He said he repeatedly caught himself thinking what a good character Nozomi is while recording.
The other three are Hana's own creations. Yuzuki Tamukai (田向結月) voices Azuha (あずは), Hana's first shikigami, who normally perches in her hair like a hair ornament. Hana made her back when she was young and her powers were weak, and Azuha has stayed with her ever since. Tamukai called her an insect shikigami whose beautiful looks contrast with a usually spacey, cute personality, though she can be relied on when it counts.
Taihi Kimura (木村太飛) plays Aoi (葵), a humanoid shikigami with high combat ability who turns bold and cocky in fights against yōma, the story's demons. Kimura said Aoi is like a little brother most of the time but cuts down yōma without hesitation in battle, and that he wants to play him as a member of Hana's family rather than just a shikigami.
M.A.O (M・A・O) rounds out the group as Miyabi (雅), a humanoid shikigami with the beauty of a celestial maiden and no mercy for anyone who hurts or saddens Hana. The bio warns she occasionally shows a darker side. M.A.O said the appeal for her is a character who reveres Hana and stays gently at her side while dispatching threats "coldly, with a smile," and that she tried to capture the gap between Miyabi's graceful softness and her occasional childlike streak. The bios describe both Aoi and Miyabi as cherishing Hana to the point of overprotectiveness.
TROYCA, Netflix and the Staff List
TROYCA (Aldnoah.Zero, Bloom Into You) handles animation production. Tōru Kitahata directs, Yūko Kakihara handles series composition and scripts, and Minami Murayama is on character design. The music is split among three composers: Yukari Hashimoto, Ruka Kawada and R.O.N.
The previously announced leads are Akari Kitō (Nezuko Kamado in Demon Slayer) as Hana Ichise and Kikunosuke Toya as Saku Ichinomiya.
The source is Kureha's novel series, published under the Kadokawa Bunko imprint, with original character designs by Bodax. Odayaka draws the manga adaptation for the B's-LOG COMICS label. Dengeki Online describes the story as a Japanese-style romance fantasy: Hana, a barrier-technique user written off as a failure and mistreated for not measuring up to her gifted twin, is cornered when Saku pressures her into a contract marriage. From there, she sets out to live on her own terms.
The streaming news is the other headline here. Netflix is confirmed as a streaming home alongside other services, though the announcement doesn't spell out regions or whether Netflix will carry it internationally.
