Wings of Freedom, Shijira-Weave Comfort

The jinbei, a lightweight two-piece outfit traditionally worn during Japanese summers, gets a Survey Corps makeover courtesy of anime merchandise maker Cospa. The design centers on the Wings of Freedom crest and "Survey Corps" lettering, printed across a fabric woven with a technique called shijira-ori. That weave creates a subtly textured surface with small ridges, which means less fabric sticks to skin when the humidity spikes. A real advantage during Japan's humid summers.

The shoulder-to-sleeve seams use an open cross-stitch construction for added airflow. One pocket on the jacket and two on the pants keep a phone and wallet close, while side slits and an elastic-plus-drawcord waist make the fit forgiving across body types. Two colorways are available: navy and rikyu-nezumi, a muted grey-green named after the tea master Sen no Rikyu. Sizes run medium (M to L) and large (XL to XXL), priced at ¥13,750 (approximately $90) tax included.

A matching Survey Corps carabiner mini pouch rounds out the release. Palm-sized at roughly 7 cm in diameter, it clips onto a bag or belt loop and opens wide enough to grab earbuds or coins without fishing around. That one runs ¥1,320 (about $9).

Where and When to Buy

Pre-orders are open now at the Cospa Official Shop and close on July 20, 2026. Early sales begin in early August 2026 at four outlets: the Cospa Official Shop, online retailer G-Store.com, and two spots in Hita, a small city in Oita Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. Hita is the hometown of Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama, and the city has built on that connection with permanent fan destinations. The Shingeki no Hita Cafe and the Attack on Titan in HITA Museum ANNEX will both stock the jinbei and pouch during the early sale window.

Orders placed through the Cospa online store ship later, during the general sale period. Stock from the early sale is limited, and once the pre-order allocation is gone, that's it.

Looking Ahead

Attack on Titan's TV run wrapped in 2023, but the franchise keeps generating new merchandise and events. The theatrical compilation The Last Attack had a revival screening run starting in January 2026, and a MAPPA 15th anniversary exhibition featuring Attack on Titan art was announced earlier this month. For international fans eyeing the jinbei, Cospa does ship some items overseas through proxy services and select international retailers, though availability for this specific release hasn't been confirmed. The G-Store.com listing is worth watching for shipping details once the item goes live.
