Kusuri's Potion Kicks Off a One-Inch Nano Problem
The episode title, "Issun Nano-shi to Kusuri Vania Family," front-loads its own joke. As the official synopsis puts it, this is Issun-boshi, the classic Japanese folktale about a one-inch hero, recast with the show's most coldly rational girlfriend in the title role. The second half appears to riff on Sylvanian Families, the miniature animal toy line sold as Calico Critters in North America, though the episode itself will have to confirm that one.
The setup: Kusuri accidentally doses Nano with one of her shrinking potions, leaving her at palm size. A counteragent exists, but it would put too much strain on her shrunken body, so all anyone can do is wait for the effect to wear off naturally. Asami Seto (Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen) voices Nano, with Ayaka Asai as the perpetually experimenting Kusuri.
The other storyline swaps slapstick for cold sweat. Kusuri's father, not inclined to trust a high schooler openly dating 15 girls at once, summons Rentaro (Wataru Katō) to the family home. The synopsis leaves Rentaro nervous but determined to prove he is serious; how that conversation goes, we'll find out when the episode airs. Japanese anime news site Animate Times published seven advance stills alongside the synopsis.
For newcomers: the series follows Rentaro Aijo, who racked up 100 straight rejections in middle school before a god of love told him that 100 destined soulmates were waiting for him in high school. The catch is that anyone who meets a destined partner but fails to find requited love with them dies. Fifteen girlfriends have joined the family so far.
Kaguya Herself Drops By 100Kano RADIO
The report also confirms the next installment of 100Kano RADIO, the series' official web radio show hosted by Kaede Hondo and Miyu Tomita, the voices of Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda. Episode 51 streams Friday, August 14 at noon Japan time with Aoi Koga as guest. Koga voices Momiji Shigemi in the anime and is best known internationally as Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. During the stream, the hosts will read out listener posts tagged #ラジオ100カノ on X in real time; details are on the program's official page.
Looking Ahead
Season 3 has been airing since July 5, 2026 on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other Japanese channels, with Bibury Animation Studios handling production. Hikaru Satō directs, Takashi Aoshima handles series composition, and Akane Yano returns as character designer and chief animation director.
Internationally, Crunchyroll streams Season 3 with new episodes arriving Sundays, and an English dub has been running since July 19, 2026. The source manga by Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump, and Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English edition. On the music side, the Season 3 opening and ending themes performed by the Rentaro Family cast unit get a CD release in Japan on September 9, 2026.
