Aoko and Saber Share One Frame

The crossover art marks two TYPE-MOON milestones that fall within weeks of each other. Witch on the Holy Night opens in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026, and the Fate/Zero TV anime passed its 15th broadcast anniversary on October 1. ufotable drew the visual to connect them, pairing Aoko Aozaki from the new film with Saber from Fate/Zero.

Witch on the Holy Night adapts TYPE-MOON's 2012 visual novel by Kinoko Nasu. Aoko is a high school student training as a magician in modern-day Japan, living in a mansion alongside fellow magic user Alice Kuonji. For ufotable (Demon Slayer, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works), it's the studio's first new TYPE-MOON feature since the Heaven's Feel trilogy, continuing a run that started with The Garden of Sinners films in the 2000s. Masashi Takeuchi directs, with Hideyuki Fukasawa on music and supercell providing the theme song "Yoru to Ao."

Fuji TV Hands the Fate/Zero Episode Picks to Viewers

The anniversary half of the campaign runs on television. Fate/Zero is getting a four-night selection broadcast on Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV, which Famitsu reports is the first time the series has aired on the network. The episodes won't be chosen by a programmer. Fuji TV is running a public vote and will build the lineup from the results, so fans pick which episodes return.

The four slots are Kanto region only, in Japan's late-night broadcast notation where 25:45 means 1:45 a.m. the next calendar day:

  • November 2 (Mon), 25:45 to 26:45
  • November 4 (Wed), 26:45 to 27:45
  • November 11 (Wed), 25:45 to 26:45
  • November 13 (Fri), 25:45 to 26:45

ABEMA Runs All 25 Episodes, Then 13 Films Go Subscription

Viewers outside the Kanto broadcast footprint get a second route. Japanese streaming platform ABEMA will run the complete Fate/Zero on its Anime LIVE channel across 12 days, starting October 10 at 23:30 with episodes 1 and 2. Blocks pair two episodes at a time through November 14, with the final session on November 15 covering episodes 23 through 25. Each block stays available free for one week after it streams.

The catalog change is the part that lasts beyond November. The 10 films in The Garden of Sinners series and the three Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel films are currently pay-per-view in Japan. Both series will move to subscription streaming on participating services, which turns 13 separate rentals into included viewing. ABEMA is also opening a limited-time channel that will run the back catalog of TYPE-MOON and ufotable collaborations for free. Which services carry the subscription versions, and the dates they go live, haven't been announced yet.

Looking Ahead

Witch on the Holy Night opens in Japan on November 20, 2026. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures are handling a worldwide theatrical rollout beginning January 21, 2027, with the United States and Canada following on January 29, 2027, in Japanese with English subtitles and in an English dub.

The Fuji TV broadcast and the ABEMA streams are Japan-only and won't be available abroad. In North America, Fate/Zero and The Garden of Sinners films both stream on Crunchyroll. The film's final trailer, which debuted the supercell theme song, is already up on YouTube.
