Frontier Works released Tanuki to Kitsune Yurutto 2, the latest volume of Atamoto's laid-back series about a tanuki and a fox, in Japan on October 15, 2026, according to a PR TIMES release from Animate Holdings. The release says the series has surpassed 1.35 million copies in cumulative circulation.

The volume is priced at ¥913 including tax and collects 61 pages of newly drawn material. Per the release, that material includes stories set when the two characters were little, along with others in which they become detectives and heroes.

Animate's Ikebukuro main store is marking the release with two campaigns. Wall decorations billed as a mini museum run from October 26 to November 8, 2026, and a fair held from October 15 to November 8 reissues bromide prints carrying a reproduced autograph. Separately, participating stores nationwide are giving a newly drawn sticker, available in one design, to customers who buy qualifying items, while supplies last.

The TV anime has been airing since October 4, 2026, Sundays at 7:00 a.m. JST in the Animori! block on six TV Tokyo network stations: TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Hokkaido, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting and TV Setouchi. The release adds that episode 1 is streaming on the series' official YouTube channel.
