The TV anime adaptation of the manga The Skull Dragon's Precious Daughter will air in 2027, ORICON NEWS reported on October 8, 2026. The announcement came with the first main visual and the first main promotional video, along with the lead cast: Kana Hanazawa as Eve and Kazuhiko Inoue as the skull dragon Nemu.

Oricon describes the series as a story of a parent and child across species: Eve, a young girl abandoned in a forest, and the skull dragon Nemu. Doga Kobo is handling animation production and KUSANAGI the background art, and the anime's official site credits Kuniyasu Nishina as director. The promotional video is posted on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel.

In comments carried by Oricon, Hanazawa said she reads the original manga as she performs, keeping in mind that Eve lives freely in her own way. Inoue said the work has a lovely atmosphere that is soothing just to watch, joked that the role of Nemu suits the always-sleepy Inoue, and said he wants to approach the recording with care for the warm bond that grows out of Nemu's meeting with Eve.

The manga is serialized in Mag Garden's Magcomi. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes it in English, following an earlier digital English release from J-Novel Club; the English release calls the dragon Snoozy.
