Volcanica Calls Emilia by Another Name
The synopsis opens on the tower's uppermost floor, where Emilia has found a black monolith and six handprints. Volcanica, conscious again, addresses her as Satella and as the Witch of Envy, then attacks again. To counter what the synopsis calls the "breath of myth," Emilia attempts to cast gokumaho (極大魔法), literally "extreme magic" and the highest tier of the series' magic system.
Out on the sand dunes, Julius Juukulius reaches Subaru and Beatrice, who have been holding the magic beasts back. The finale synopsis and advance stills posted by Japanese anime news site eeo Media frame this as the final phase of the Pleiades Watchtower assault, and the party commits every force it has gathered. The synopsis closes on the crimson scorpion's carapace turning a vivid red and crumbling away.
Official material stops there. Episode 19 is titled "Shaula / Hero" (「シャウラ／英雄」), and episode 18, the 84th overall, was titled "Ram" (「ラム」). The synopsis does not explain the pairing in the new title.
A 45-Minute Finale to Close the Recapture Arc
Episode 19, the 85th episode overall, airs Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in a 45-minute extended slot, roughly double the usual running time. It closes a season that aired in two blocks: the 11-episode Loss Arc from April 8 to June 17, 2026, and the eight-episode Recapture Arc that started August 12.
White Fox (Steins;Gate, Goblin Slayer) animates the season. Masahiro Shinohara directs, with Masahiro Yokotani on series composition, Haruka Sagawa on character design and Ken'ichirō Suehiro on music, per the official site's staff and cast page. That same page lists Yūsuke Kobayashi as Subaru Natsuki, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, Satomi Arai as Beatrice, Rie Murakawa as Ram, Inori Minase as Rem, Takuya Eguchi as Julius Juukulius and Kana Ueda as Anastasia Hoshin.
Fairouz Ai voices Shaula and narrates the finale's web preview alongside Kobayashi, both in character. The series' official X account quotes Shaula pitching a 400-year nonstop live special with her Master. The gag sits a long way from the tone of the synopsis it introduces.
Re:Zero adapts Tappei Nagatsuki's light novel series, published under KADOKAWA's MF Bunko J imprint, about Subaru Natsuki, a Japanese teenager pulled into another world who restarts from a fixed point every time he dies. The fourth season covers the Pleiades Watchtower storyline, the sixth arc of the novels.
Looking Ahead
Crunchyroll holds the season outside Japan and is simulcasting the finale with the Japanese broadcast, so international viewers see it the same day.
Readers who want the source text can read ahead in English. Yen Press publishes both Nagatsuki's light novels and the manga adaptations in North America, and the novels have run well past the Watchtower material in Japan.
The eeo Media report covers episode 19 and nothing beyond it. No further anime plans came attached to the finale material, so whether arc 7 gets an adaptation remains unannounced.
