The Straw Hats Hit the Hardwood

One Piece characters are suiting up for the NBA. A new collaboration T-shirt collection pairing Eiichiro Oda's pirate crew with the National Basketball Association is now available for pre-order on Premium Bandai, Bandai's official online store.

The lineup includes seven designs, each available in black and white — 14 shirts total. The character art reimagines One Piece favorites as basketball players, with the source article highlighting Luffy's ball handling and Law's behind-the-back pass among the designs. Each shirt is priced at ¥6,600 (tax included, roughly $43), and they're made from 100% cotton in sizes S through XXL.

Pre-orders opened on May 27, 2026 and run through July 12, 2026, with shipping scheduled for September 2026.

One Piece's Ongoing Global Push

The collaboration lands during a particularly busy stretch for One Piece across every medium. The anime is currently deep into its Elbaf arc, which kicked off on Fuji TV in April 2026 — a milestone chapter of the story fans have waited years to see animated. Meanwhile, Netflix's live-action adaptation launched its second season in March 2026, keeping the franchise visible well beyond the traditional anime audience.

On the manga side, Oda's original series — serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997 — crossed 600 million copies in circulation worldwide as of March 2026, with over 450 million in Japan and 150 million internationally. An NBA crossover is the kind of mainstream brand partnership that reflects just how far One Piece's reach extends beyond the manga rack.

This T-shirt drop is also part of a broader One Piece x NBA merchandise wave. Anime Anime reports that companion products — tote bags and acrylic stands featuring characters like Sabo dribbling and Ace dunking — are also hitting Premium Bandai around the same time.

Looking Ahead

Pre-orders close July 12, 2026, so international fans eyeing these shirts will want to act before then. Premium Bandai ships primarily within Japan, though proxy shipping services like Tenso and Buyee can route orders overseas — a common workaround for Bandai-exclusive merchandise.

For fans following One Piece on screen, the Elbaf arc continues weekly on Fuji TV, with Crunchyroll simulcasting for international audiences. Netflix's live-action Season 2 is streaming globally now.
