Roxy Moves In, and Cliff Objects

Episode 3, "Kaettekita Nichijō" (roughly "A Return to Everyday Life"), lives up to its title. According to the episode synopsis in the Animate Times report, Rudeus has welcomed Roxy as his second wife and settled into a calm stretch of family life with his first wife Sylphiette, their daughter Lucy, and his younger sisters Norn and Aisha. He is also back at Ranoa Magic Academy, and Roxy is set to start teaching there.

That is where the calm cracks. As Rudeus introduces Roxy to everyone as his wife, Cliff cannot accept the arrangement because of his religious beliefs. We'll find out how that tension plays out when the episode airs. The new preview stills for the episode are up now on Animate Times, the Japanese anime news site that ran the reveal.

Four Leads Take the Stage on July 11

Ahead of the broadcast, an advance screening of episodes 3 and 4 lands at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya in central Tokyo on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Four members of the main cast for the arc covering Rudeus's young adulthood will appear for a stage greeting: Yumi Uchiyama (内山夕実), who voices Rudeus, Tomokazu Sugita (杉田智和, Gintoki Sakata in Gintama), who plays the man from Rudeus's previous life, Konomi Kohara (小原好美, Chika Fujiwara in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) as Roxy, and Ai Kayano (茅野愛衣), the voice of Sylphiette.

Tickets for the Hibiya stage-greeting show are already sold out. Screening-only showings run at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro in Tokyo, TOHO Cinemas Nagoya Sakae, and TOHO Cinemas Umeda in Osaka, with tickets on sale now.

Season 3 So Far

Season 3 opened on July 4, 2026 with a special back-to-back premiere of episodes 1 and 2 on Tokyo MX and the Japanese streaming services ABEMA and d Anime Store, one day ahead of the regular broadcast slot that began July 5 on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other channels. Those first two episodes, "Moeyo Kyōken" and "Hoeyo Kyōken" (roughly "Burn, Mad Dog" and "Howl, Mad Dog"), kept the spotlight on Eris, voiced by Ai Kakuma, before episode 3 brings the story back to Rudeus's household.

Studio Bind, which has animated the series since its 2021 debut, returns for Season 3 with director Ryosuke Shibuya. The anime adapts Rifujin na Magonote's novels, which began running on the Japanese web-novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2012 and are regarded as a pioneering work of the reincarnation isekai genre. The story follows a 34-year-old shut-in who dies in a traffic accident and is reborn as Rudeus in a world of swords and magic, determined to live his new life seriously while carrying the memories and regrets of his old one.

Looking Ahead

Episode 4 airs Sunday, July 19, 2026 in Japan. The Animate Times piece doesn't list episode 3's exact air date, only that the July 11 screening runs ahead of it. Internationally, Crunchyroll is streaming Season 3 as it airs, per Crunchyroll's own season guide. For anyone who wants to read ahead, Seven Seas publishes the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novels and manga in English.
