Roxy Takes the Podium, and Cliff Objects
The preview stills, published by Japanese anime news site Anime Anime, show Rudeus in full family-man mode. He has welcomed Roxy Migurdia as his second wife and settled into a quiet routine with his first wife Sylphiette, their daughter Lucy, and his younger sisters Norn and Aisha. He is also back at the Ranoa Magic Academy.
One complication is already visible. Roxy takes a teaching position at the academy, and when Rudeus introduces her to everyone as his wife, Cliff can't accept the arrangement for religious reasons. We'll find out how far that objection goes when the episode airs.
The returning cast members reprise their roles: Yumi Uchiyama voices Rudeus, Konomi Kohara plays Roxy, Ai Kayano is Sylphiette, and Ryōta Ōsaka voices Cliff. Tomokazu Sugita continues as the narrating man from Rudeus' previous life.
Season 3 Opened With a Two-Episode Eris Special
Episode 3 is where the season's weekly broadcast properly begins. Episodes 1 and 2, billed as the Eris Training Arc and featuring Ai Kakuma as Eris, aired back to back in a special July 4 broadcast on TOKYO MX, one day ahead of the other stations, with ABEMA and d Anime Store simulcasting. With "Kaettekita Nichijō" (roughly, "Everyday Life Returns"), the series moves into what the announcement calls Rudeus' young-adult arc.
The franchise adapts Rifujin na Magonote's light novels, published under KADOKAWA's MF Books label with 18 million copies in circulation across the series. The story follows a 34-year-old shut-in who dies in a traffic accident and is reborn as a baby named Rudeus in a sword-and-sorcery world, carrying his past-life memories and regrets into a vow to live seriously this time. Season 1 premiered in January 2021 and Season 2 in July 2023.
Ryōsuke Shibuya returns as director for Season 3, sharing series composition with Naoto Yauchi, with animation once again produced at Studio Bind and music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa. Yuiko Ōhara performs the opening theme "Ketsui no Uta," while Mika Nakashima sings the ending theme "Inori, Owareba."
Looking Ahead
From July 12, Mushoku Tensei III airs every Sunday at midnight JST on TOKYO MX and BS11, with Sun TV and KBS Kyoto following later the same night. ABEMA and d Anime Store simulcast each episode Sunday at midnight, and other Japanese streaming services get episodes on Wednesdays.
Internationally, Crunchyroll is streaming Season 3 in most regions worldwide. The platform premiered the double-episode opener on July 5, 2026 with a multi-language dub rollout, and Seasons 1 and 2 are available there for a catch-up run before the young-adult arc gets going.
