Tōuchi Mariko Steps Into Koshigaya Hitomi's Shoes

The role of Koshigaya Hitomi — the brash, talent-scouting magical girl at the heart of Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. — has a new voice. Oricon News reported that Tōuchi Mariko (東内マリ子) will take over the role for Season 2, replacing Hanamori Yumiri (Nadeshiko in Laid-Back Camp, Ai Hayasaka in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War).

Hanamori's departure was announced back in February on the show's official site. The production committee explained that after discussions with Hanamori's agency tomorrow jam, both sides reached a mutual agreement for her to step down. No further details were given at the time, and the team promised a successor announcement would follow.

Tōuchi expressed deep admiration for the character in her official comment, describing Koshigaya as someone whose casual confidence hides real inner conflict. She noted the character's unwavering conviction behind her trademark "easy win" attitude, adding that she wants to "sincerely commit to delivering all of Koshigaya Hitomi's charm" through her performance.

A newly released PV gives fans their first listen to Tōuchi's take on the role. The Season 2 first PV, now live on the anime's official YouTube channel, runs through new footage with her voice work front and center.

New Cast and a VTuber Ending Theme

The recast isn't the only personnel news. Watabe Sayumi (渡部紗弓), known for voicing Akira Tachibana in After the Rain and Eleonore Bianca in The Misfit of Demon King Academy, joins the cast as Akasaka Iroha (赤坂いろは), a new character for the second season.

On the music side, the Season 2 ending theme will be "BooooM!!!" performed by Houshou Marine. For those less familiar with the VTuber world, Houshou Marine is one of Hololive Production's biggest stars — a 3rd-generation member whose YouTube channel has over four million subscribers. She's released multiple singles and a studio album, making her one of the most commercially successful VTubers in the music space. Her involvement adds a notable cross-platform draw to the season.

About Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.

For anyone who missed Season 1, Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. is based on the Shonen Jump+ manga by Sekka Iwata (story) and Yū Aoki (art), which ran from October 2021 to July 2025 across 18 volumes. The series is set in a world where supernatural disasters called "kaii" are a fact of life and the magical girls who fight them are a legitimate, licensed profession — complete with corporate structure, performance reviews, and startup culture.

Protagonist Sakuragi Kana stumbles into a kaii incident during a job interview, catches the eye of Koshigaya Hitomi, and gets recruited into the scrappy startup Magilumiere. What follows is equal parts workplace comedy and magical-girl action, with the added tension of navigating eccentric coworkers and corporate politics while saving lives.

Season 1, produced by J.C.Staff, aired from October to December 2024 on NTV. Season 2 continues at J.C.Staff under new director Toshinori Fukushima, with Michiko Yokote handling series composition.

Looking Ahead

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. Season 2 premieres July 4, 2026 on the Nippon Television network. Season 1 streamed on Amazon Prime Video, and the official site lists Prime Video among the Season 2 streaming platforms alongside ABEMA and d-Anime Store. No dedicated international streaming partner (Crunchyroll, Netflix) has been confirmed for Season 2 at this time.

The source manga is available in English through Viz Media and can also be read on Manga Plus, Shueisha's free global platform — so there's no barrier for international fans looking to get ahead of the anime.
