The final chapter of the Kaiju No. 8 anime will be a theatrical film, Gekijōban Kaijū 8-gō (literally "Kaiju No. 8: The Movie"), releasing in 2027, Comic Natalie reports. The film was announced on October 24, 2026, at a Kaiju No. 8 event held in Tachikawa, Tokyo, a city with ties to the series.
A super teaser visual was unveiled at the same time, along with a video revealing it. The visual was drawn by Shinji Kimura, who was also art director on the TV series. It shows an unidentified giant kaiju and collapsed buildings in dark tones.
The anime adapts Naoya Matsumoto's manga. Its first season aired in 2024 and its second in 2025. Production of a final chapter was announced at Jump Festa 2026, held at the end of 2025.
Masaya Fukunishi, who voices Kafka Hibino / Kaiju No. 8, also sent a comment. "Next year is the year I turn 32, the same age as Kafka. I can't help feeling it's fate that we're reaching the final chapter at this moment," he said (translated). He added that he will put everything into the work, alongside Kafka and Kaiju No. 8, until the very end.
