Toshima City, the Tokyo ward that includes Ikebukuro, will install two design manhole covers featuring the TV anime Jujutsu Kaisen in Nishi-Ikebukuro in late October, according to a PR TIMES release from the ward. Installation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2026, moving to October 26 or 28 if it rains.
One cover shows Yuji Itadori and Hiromi Higuruma and will be placed near the five-way intersection at Ikebukuro's west exit, in Nishi-Ikebukuro 3-chome. The other shows Megumi Fushiguro and Fumihiko Takaba and will go near Kanamecho Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho and Fukutoshin lines, in Nishi-Ikebukuro 5-chome.
The ward links the project to the anime's third season, "The Culling Game Part 1," in which Ikebukuro appears as one of the story's settings, including Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park. That season began airing on MBS/TBS-affiliated stations in January 2026. Toshima City says its city promotion is built around manga and anime with ties to the area, with the aim of drawing visitors from Japan and abroad.
