Matsuda Mai's manga Hōkago Kitaku Biyori (放課後帰宅びより) is getting a TV anime that will air on Nippon Television from April 2027, Comic Natalie reported on October 7, 2026. A teaser visual was released the same day, along with a celebratory illustration by Matsuda.
The manga is a high school romantic comedy set around a going-home club. Sato Shun gives up his dream of becoming a soccer player after an injury, and at the high school he enters he meets Sato Naoki, an upperclassman whose habitual line is that she wants to go home. She recruits him into the "Hyper Going-Home Club," and the two grow closer. Natalie reported in March 2025 that an anime project was in progress; this announcement added the broadcaster and the April 2027 window.
The teaser visual shows Naoki waiting for someone at the school gate. Matsuda's illustration pairs her, holding a tree branch, with Shun making a peace sign. In a comment written inside the illustration, Matsuda said she was really looking forward to it, adding, in a line translated from Japanese, that the Hyper Going-Home Club was going to move and talk and go home.
Matsuda serializes the manga in Futabasha's Manga Action and on web Action, and volume 7 is scheduled to go on sale October 8, 2026. To mark the adaptation, web Action is running a free preview: three volumes are free until noon on October 21, 2026, and one volume will be free from October 21 to November 4, 2026, according to a PR TIMES release.
