Six Fan Favorites Get Fresh Summer Art

The new merch line centers on original illustrations of Shoyo Hinata, Tobio Kageyama, Tetsuro Kuroo, Kenma Kozume, Kotaro Bokuto, and Keiji Akaashi, all depicted mid-cool-down. Japanese anime news site Anime Anime reported the illustrations were drawn specifically for this release, giving fans an off-court look at all six.

The lineup spans characters from rival schools: Karasuno's Hinata and Kageyama, Nekoma's Kuroo and Kenma, and Fukurodani's Bokuto and Akaashi. That cross-school selection mirrors the matchups fans have been following since the anime's first season in 2014.

What's in the Lineup

Four product categories use the new art:

  • Iridescent acrylic stands (6 types, ¥1,980 each / approx. $13): holographic-finish stands of each character.
  • Glossy character badge collection (6 types, ¥550 per blind pack / approx. $3.50; full box of 6 for ¥3,300).
  • Clear file (¥440 / approx. $2.80).
  • Clear sheet collection (12 types, ¥440 per 2-sheet pack; full box of 6 packs for ¥2,640).

All items go on sale August 22 at Animate, Japan's largest anime specialty retail chain, and through Animate's online store.

The Cool Down Fair

Alongside the product launch, Animate is running the "Haikyu!! Cool Down Fair" from August 22 through September 23, 2026. During the fair, every ¥1,100 (approx. $7) spent on Haikyu!! merchandise (or per audiovisual product purchased/reserved with a ¥1,100 minimum deposit) earns one bonus illustration sheet. There are six sheet designs total, distributed randomly.

The fair runs at all Animate locations nationwide plus the online shop.

Looking Ahead

The merch drop lands in a strong stretch for Haikyu!! fans. The franchise's 2024 theatrical film, Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle, crossed ¥20 billion (approx. $130 million) at the worldwide box office, and two more projects are confirmed for 2027: the theatrical film Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant, covering Karasuno's Spring High match against Kamomedai, and the special TV anime Haikyu!! Where the Monsters Go, adapting Fukurodani's clash with Mujinazaka.

No international retail partners have been announced for the Cool Down merch line. Animate does ship internationally through its online store, though availability for fair-exclusive bonuses may vary. For fans outside Japan, the manga is published in English by Viz Media, and all four TV anime seasons plus The Dumpster Battle are streaming on Crunchyroll.

The Cool Down Fair runs through September 23, 2026.
