Two Jackets, Two Sides Each

AKROS, the Japanese apparel brand behind several licensed anime outerwear lines, has revealed two new reversible sukajan (souvenir jackets) based on Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Anime Anime reported the jackets are available for pre-order now on the AKROS official site and Animate Online, with sales beginning in late July 2026.

Sukajan are silk or satin bomber-style jackets traditionally sold as souvenirs in Japan, known for their bold embroidered designs. These two take that tradition and fill it with imagery from the hit fantasy anime.

The first jacket centers on Frieren and Himmel. One side features Frieren's staff and Himmel's sword rendered in raised 3D embroidery, with the series title stitched across the chest and a "The Hero Party's Mage" emblem on the back. Flip it inside out and you get a full-color graphic of Frieren and Himmel printed on the reverse, plus a Mimic embroidered on the chest alongside the quote "It's dark, it's scary," a callback fans will recognize.

The second jacket belongs to Aura the Guillotine. Its embroidered side recreates Aura's Scales of Obedience in 3D stitching, flanked by "One of the Seven Sages of Destruction" and "Aura the Guillotine" text logos, with horn and scale motifs across the back. The reverse side features a vivid full-color Aura graphic.

Pricing and Sizing

Both jackets are priced at ¥32,780 (approximately $210) including tax. They come in M, L, XL, and XXL in a unisex cut, made from HDPE (high-density polyethylene) and polyester. Pre-orders opened in late June 2026 through the AKROS official site and Animate Online.

At that price point, these sit in premium licensed-apparel territory. The 3D embroidery and reversible construction put them closer to collector outerwear than a standard anime T-shirt, which tracks with AKROS's previous Frieren releases including a replica of Frieren's coat.

About the Series

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is based on the manga by Kanehito Yamada (story) and Tsukasa Abe (art), serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday. The story follows Frieren, an elf mage who has lived for over a thousand years, as she processes the bonds she formed with her former adventuring party after their quest to defeat the Demon King ended. Season 1 aired from September 2023 to March 2024 and became a global hit. Season 2, produced by Madhouse (Death Note, One-Punch Man) under director Tomoya Kitagawa, ran from January to March 2026. A third season adapting the Golden Land arc is confirmed for October 2027.

Looking Ahead

The jackets ship in late July 2026 within Japan. International buyers can typically order through Animate Online's global storefront or proxy-shopping services, though availability may vary. The manga is published in English by Viz Media, and both anime seasons are streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide. With the Golden Land arc not arriving until October 2027, there is plenty of time to break in a new jacket before Season 3 premieres.
