An 89-Year-Old Gets the Fated-Meeting Jolt
The premise of 100 Girlfriends has always carried a threat under the comedy. Rentarou Aijou (voiced by Wataru Katō) was rejected 100 times in middle school, then learned from the God of Love that he would meet 100 destined partners in high school. The catch: any soulmate who fails to find love and happiness will die. Episode 32 takes that setup somewhere the show has never gone: old age.
According to the synopsis published by Japanese anime news site Animate Times, the episode opens with the family catching its breath after surviving a spy attack targeting Kusuri Yakuzen (Ayaka Asai). That is when Kusuri's grandmother, Yaku Yakuzen (薬膳ヤク), shows up. Rentarou locks eyes with her and gets the series' signature full-body jolt, the one that marks a new destined partner.
Yaku is 89, which makes her the oldest member of the Rentarou Family by a wide margin. Per the synopsis, she stays completely composed through it all. She casually mentions joining the family in the middle of a relaxed gathering, then immediately invites Rentarou out on a walk date. The Season 3 Team
Season 3 is produced at Bibury Animation Studios, with Hikaru Satō directing, Takashi Aoshima on series composition, and Akane Yano as character designer and chief animation director. The anime adapts Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa's manga, serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine.
The season has been airing since July 5, 2026 on TOKYO MX, BS11, and other Japanese channels. Episode 32 is the eighth episode of the season, which runs 12 episodes.
